Sen. Rick Santorum's recent remarks gave lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender groups even more reason to attend the 5th Annual Ignite Rally & Legislative Education Day yesterday in Harrisburg.

The frosty-treat seekers that form long lines outside the University Creamery don't have the opportunity to see all the behind-the-scenes work involved with turning milk into the famous ice cream, but Jim Stroup does.

Hundreds of doctors from across Pennsylvania will gather in State College tomorrow for a conference protesting the high rates of medical malpractice insurance.

The weather is finally starting to heat up, and so are the incidents of bike theft on campus and in the State College area.

The State College-based group American Women Out Loud (AWOL) is calling for a boycott of all Penn State partnerships, charging that a team of the school's researchers is engaged in illegal chemical weapons research and development.

Jun-Woo Lim, 19, of 445 Waupelani Dr., will have a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. today in Centre County Courthouse, Bellefonte. Lim faces charges for prostitution and related offenses, and criminal solicitation.

Draft day is past, the celebrating is over, and the new draftees and their entourages have put their suits away. Everything that happened in the last college football season, the combines, pro days, interviews, and everything the experts have said means precisely squat.

It's rare in baseball when one player carries an entire team.

Timely hitting, strong pitching and manufacturing runs have been the calling card of the National League for many years.

Penn State swimming and diving coach Bill Dorenkott is a straight shooter who talks fondly of hard work and team cohesion. He got both of those from this year's team.

At the beginning of the season it was a young team with high hopes. However, those hopes never fully developed into production on the field.

For junior Eric Bradley and sophomore Luke Runion, Sin City held no surprises.

The Big Ten Outdoor Championships are still two and a half weeks away, but for the Penn State women's outdoor track team, it might as well be tomorrow. As a team, there is no bigger event in the season. It defines where the Nittany Lions stand in the conference and can have a large influence on recruiting.

While Penn State students were enjoying their winter break, the Penn State women's gymnastics team was fine-tuning its skills to prepare themselves for a long season that would produce multiple highs and a few heartbreaking lows.
