A Penn State student faces multiple drug charges after the Centre County Drug Task Force found him in possession of 10 pounds of marijuana while serving drug delivery arrest warrants on March 6.

Scott T. Newton, 21, 131 S. Sparks St., is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia.

After obtaining a search warrant, authorities found the marijuana, a .40 caliber handgun and $10,760 in cash.

Newton's preliminary hearing is today at 8:30 a.m. in Centre County Courthouse, Bellefonte.
