Patton Township police investigate break-in

The Patton Township Police Department is investigating a break-in at the old A&P building, 1910 N. Atherton St., that occurred between April 2 and April 9.

Police Detective Chris Federinko said extensive damage was done inside the building, which is currently vacant, and items were found that were linked to recent thefts in the area.

Federinko said police have a general idea of the group of suspects who may be responsible but do not suspect any specific person. He added that the incident has the potential to tie up a lot of unsolved theft cases.

Damage inside the building, which is owned by a Pittsburgh company, included damage to the dry wall, plumbing torn out of the walls, damage to the building's lighting and spray painting on the walls, Federinko said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Patton Township Police Department at 234-0273.
