Seven Penn State Icers named All-Americans

Seven members of the Penn State Icers ACHA Div. I championship team were named All-Americans yesterday.

Defensemen Josh Mandel and Curtiss Patrick, and Red-Line forwards Kevin Jaeger and Glenn Zuck were named first-team ACHA All-Americans, while forward Neal Price was named to the second team.

Defenseman Brandon Cook and goalie Scott Graham were honorable mentions. This marks the second-straight year in which the Icers have garnered four of the six first-team All-America slots.

Mandel's selection was his fourth-consecutive first-team selection, making him the first Icers' player to accomplish the feat. The senior defenseman finished his Penn State career with the third-most career points for a defenseman, scoring 149. This is Zuck's second selection to the first-team, and Jaeger's first.

The duo combined to finish 1-2 in the ACHA Div. I scoring race, with Jaeger's 41 goals the second-highest single-season total in Icers' history and Zuck's 88 points the third best. Price, a senior member of the Red Line and last year's ACHA Div. I Player of the Year, was named to an All-America team for the second-consecutive year, while Cook's selection is his first in four years. Graham, a first-teamer last year, was the ACHA Tournament MVP and finishes second on the Penn State single-season and career lists for wins.
