Couple facing charges in rape case go to trial

State College couple charged with multiple counts of rape and endangering the welfare of children were bound over for trial yesterday in Centre County Courthouse, Bellefonte.

Jack Pressler, 45, 1857 N. Atherton St., is charged with 10 counts of rape, 10 counts of sexual assault, 10 counts of indecent assault, five counts of indecent exposure, one count of corruption of minors and one count of endangering the welfare of children.

At the hearing, Pressler was given additional charges, including 15 counts of involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, five counts of rape, five counts of sexual assault and five counts of indecent assault.

Maryann Pressler, 37, faces two counts of endangering the welfare of children. She was also given an additional count of endangering the welfare of children yesterday.

The charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred between September 1999 and March 2001, according to the criminal complaint.
