I am disappointed in the lack of Collegian support for the Mr. & Miss Asian Penn State pageant last Thursday. Last year there was a nice front page article noting the pageant. However, this year I woke up only to find a missing article.

Are the accomplishments of Asians not notable enough to garner mention? I think it's a shame that winners who have contributed to the Penn State community cannot receive wider support outside of the Asian community.

This is also representative of the lack of support for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Asian Awakenings, a cultural performance night, also did not receive notice. The Filipino event, Barrio, was this past weekend and part of Late Night Penn State.

These events were attended by more than the Asian Community and yet, the Collegian finds these shows unworthy of coverage.
