A Penn State student arrested in a drug sweep March faces his preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. today in Centre County Courthouse, Bellefonte.

Scott T. Newton, 21, 131 S. Sparks St., is charged with three counts of violating the state's controlled substance, drug, device and cosmetic act.

Newton allegedly sold three ounces of marijuana to a police informant.

The arrest was a result of a joint investigation between Penn State Police Services and the Centre County Drug Task Force.
