Police Log

Theft: A JVC Compact Disc player, speakers and power amp were stolen from a parked car on the 1300 block of Houserville Road early Friday morning, the State College Police Department said.

The car stereo is valued at $330, police said.

Theft: An electric guitar valued at $1,500 was taken from a front porch on the 400 block of East College Avenue early Friday morning, police said.

Theft: An IBM ThinkPad laptop computer was taken between 3:30 and 8:30 a.m. yesterday from an apartment on the 100 block of South Atherton Street.

The computer is valued at $1,000, police said.

Theft: An Xbox and four video games valued at $500 were taken between Friday and Saturday from the eighth floor of 646 E. College Ave. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

Theft: A staff member reported $593 had been taken from the Penn State Bookstore between Jan. 30 and March 26, Penn State Police Services said.

A suspect has been identified and charges will be filed, police said.

Theft: A student reported his backpack and its contents was taken from the Intramural Building Friday evening, Penn State police said. Value is estimated at $415, police said.

Theft: A visitor reported the theft of her book bag and its contents from HUB Alumni Hall early Saturday morning, Penn State police said. Value is estimated at $700, police said.

State College police are located at 243 S. Allen St. in the Municipal Building.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
