Letter to the Editor
Many with liberal pasts broadcast on TV stations

Re: "Station owners' ties affect war coverage," March 25 letter. The author complains that the bosses at FOX News have Republican backgrounds. FOX News Channel drives liberals nuts. Liberals love freedom of speech, just when they are the only ones heard; that's the only way liberals can win. Pitted against a conservative viewpoint, liberals always lose.

The facts are indisputable. The number one talk radio show is conservative Rush Limbaugh. Conservative books regularly reach number one on bestseller lists while Al Gore's new book couldn't break #1,000 on www.amazon .com. The number one cable news program The O'Reilly Factor often doubles or triples the competition's ratings. The choices are out there, and Americans choose to hear conservatives. Liberals are scared to death. They're losing their grip on the mainstream media just as they lost their grip on good American values and morals.

Let's take a look at those beacons of fairness and neutrality in the media such as ABC, NBC and CNBC. Just as we scrutinize FOX for its conservatism, we must delve further than liberals want us to. We find that Democrats are running wild all over the media. Maria Shriver from NBC is the niece of Ted Kennedy. George Stefanopolous from ABC was White House spokesman under former president Bill Clinton. Tim Russert from NBC worked under former Democratic New York Gov. Mario Cuomo. Chris Matthews from CNBC was a Jimmy Carter speechwriter. The left-influenced media has long been peddled to the public as unbiased. Today, liberal opinions are under fire and they cry unfairness.
