For the last few weeks, we have read numerous articles about people protesting against the war. To make your voice heard, whether for or against the war, is one of your many privileges of being a U.S. citizen. You have this right protected under the First Amendment.
My problem comes when these simple-minded protesters feel the need to agitate and distract our administrative forces. One force in particular is the police. These public figures were designed to keep the peace and protect you from harm. City councils have even set up streets for you to protest on in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and several other cities. My question is, why lash out at the police? They are here for you. By fighting with the cops, you keep them away from securing our safety in a very chaotic time in our nation's history.
My other point is, support our troops. You can be against the war all you want, however, once we send our military into action, why try to lower their morale? I respect our troops to the highest degree and I will support them in whatever actions they need to do to keep us safe.
Let's hope they get done with this task as soon as possible so they can come home safely. Try to show a little heart for our troops abroad. Be intelligent and stop protesting with such violence that you cause a ruckus for our police services. You are supposed to be protesting for peace.
