Author should thank protesters for war
Re: "Without protesters, there wouldn't be a war," March 25 column. This conservative speech is a favorable outcry for the current American-led war with Iraq, so if protesters are to blame for the cause of such a war (which the author claims), why all the angst for the protester? Shouldn't you be non-satirical in your thanking of protesters worldwide for allowing you and your president to bask in your enjoyment of enslaving a non-threatening nation to horrendous violence? Or am I just an idiot with bloody hands? And you must be right in claiming that the protesters' actions of blocking streets and interrupting classes are un-American, because the weapons of mass destruction creating, missilelaunching, mass civilian killing behavior is clearly a much better description of what is American and has been American for ages.
And, you also claim that thanks to no support from fellow countries like France, Germany and Russia, war would not have been an option because "Saddam never would have stood against a unified Earth." Sigh, I really see no basis to your entire argument, but I am in agreement with you on one thing you said: We both can't wait to see the freed Iraqi people dancing in the streets. I just hope they have enough room to dance with all their thousands of unfortunate dead brothers and sisters under their feet. Thank you America. Who's next? Michael Miller
