U.S. war on Iraq will be bad for every country

As a recent graduate, I offer a different perspective on the equally imminent and potential atrocity of a war with Iraq. I am currently serving my country in PeaceCorps Nicaragua. Like most of this country's citizens, I vehemently oppose another war with the innocent Iraqi civilians. I feel the power of the people addressed why Americans oppose it. I will explain Nicaragua's plight. Capitalistically, the price of petroleum will rise. Of more importance, one doesn't have to look past ex- actor Ronald Reagan's comical policy to know how negatively the United States has affected Nicaragua. It's challenging to encounter a family that didn't lose a child from the Contra War. The recent elections featured more illegal U.S. intervention to deny the Marxist people-led Sandinistas. Despite this, the people I work with are forgiving and I am not discriminated against because of the country I was born in.

In my world without borders, a world civil war will commence. Nicaraguans don't want it, as evidenced by the masses taking to the streets chanting peaceful revolutionary slogans, enflaming U.S. flags, and replacing them with in solidarity with Iraqi and Palestinian ones. All I want is peace; I still believe the PeaceCorps promotes it. The question is: Does the United States?
