Letter to the Editor
U.S. government acting like a terrorist group

Of all the moments that made me fear for my country, Saturday on the bus takes the cake. Our collective insanity has brought our hate to a new level and truly we are the greatest threat to world peace ever devised.

As I listened to my fellow passengers talk in compassionate terms about how worried they were for the soldiers and, oh yeah, those poor Iraqis, I felt obliged to speak up.

A fellow in the back said, "Well, ma'am, we will be going to war any day now." I responded with, "And when we do that, the true majority of this country and this planet will be bringing the whole nation to a screeching halt." The argument heated up a little from there and the man behind me heated up in a smoked out yell and said, "Well now we're gonna be the terrorists! We are gonna make them so scared of us that they're never gonna attack us again." "Who are 'they'?" is all I said, and sat back down to pray for my country to find itself and throw off the mantle of empire and paranoia.

We are the terrorists. We are the ones bombing houses and hospitals because a minority, a violent repressive few, represent our country and use its great authority and power to exact a great toll on all mankind.
