Academic Assembly nominates candidates

The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Academic Assembly nominated candidates for executive positions and voted to adopt revised bylaws last night.

The existing assembly bylaws require one president and one vice president.

However, if USG President Rubina Javeri signs off on the new bylaws, the assembly will elect one president and two vice presidents, said current Academic Assembly President D. Joshua Troxell.

Troxell said last night's nominations for vice president will go to the general pool of nominees for the election.

He added that last night's nominees were not specifically assigned to either position.

Troxell was re-nominated, and unless others are nominated as well, he will run unopposed.

Assuming Javeri signs off on the new bylaws, nominees for vice president include Bradley Hoagland, Jeffrey Corbets, Ryan Fortese and Mark Levin.

Nominations are still being accepted for executive positions.
