Following a meeting with Penn State administrators, the ClearWater Conservancy has decided not to be written into the university's plan to sell Circleville Farm.
"The value that we would have added by entering into the process ... wasn't enough to justify the amount of resources we'd have to devote to it," said Jennifer Shuey, executive director of the Conservancy.
"We think Penn State is doing a really great job of including some environmental protection in the [request for proposals]," she said.
Penn State is asking potential developers to conserve about 36 acres of the 155-acre tract of Ferguson Township land, which is valued at more than $2 million.
Administrators said they will release a new request for proposals Monday and accept offers to buy the farm until late July.
