A Penn State employee arrested in February on charges of child pornography is no longer employed by the university, spokesman Bill Mahon said.
Adam R. Chadwick, 25, of 425 W. College Ave. was placed on unpaid leave by the university, Mahon said.
Penn State is unable to comment on whether Chadwick's employment was terminated by university administration or by Chadwick himself, Mahon added.
After Ferguson Township Police located child pornography on Chadwick's computer, the case was handed to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Ferguson Township Police Detective Brian Sprinkle said.
Chadwick was originally supposed to face federal indictment, Sprinkle added.
The arrest came long after the investigation because of a U.S. District Attorney's decision not to prosecute the case, Sprinkle said.
Though Chadwick was hired by the university during the investigation and possible indictment, background checks did not reveal the information because no charges had been officially filed, Mahon said.
Chadwick has been charged with 46 counts of sexual abuse of children and 46 counts of criminal use of a communication facility.
