Letter to the Editor
Policy was grossly misapplied to protesters (1)

Re: "Protesters violate policy requiring fair treatment," Feb. 20 letter.

The author should be noted for his ability to conveniently interpret school policy to support his argument. He implies that Penn State policy, in fact, forbids the anti-war protests on campus. There's just one problem: The policy he quotes does not state at all that intolerance of political views are in violation of that policy. It states that when a violation occurs, if that violation is motivated by intolerance it will receive a more severe punishment.

If the school actually operated like the author seems to think it does, his views on anti-war protests would be seen as violation of the policy that he blatantly misinterpreted.
