A raccoon believed to have rabies was located by the Ferguson Township Police Department at about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 17 near Overlook Heights, police said.
The raccoon was tested and confirmed to have the disease, police said.
Residents of Overlook Heights and the surrounding areas are advised to watch for any strange behavior from wild animals, avoid approaching them and keep pets away from them, police said. Police said residents who observe such strange behavior should contact 911.
