'Road Rulers,' students model Hilfiger fashion

Collegian Staff Writer

Dancers at this year's Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon crowded the makeshift runway during the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show, as Four Diamonds Fund children, students, Hilfiger models and Road Rules cast members revealed the company's new spring line to Thon-goers.

The spring line for women included short shorts, knee-length skirts, capri pants, brightly colored bikinis and clunky sandals. The men's line included a new athletic line, board shorts, flip-flops and bathing suits.

"At first I was very nervous, but then going out there was really fun and hanging out with all of the other models and the Real World and Road Rules people was a blast," said student model Holly Dimmack (sophomore-psychology). "It was a lot of fun, and I think it gave [the dancers] something else fun to watch."

Dimmack, who had modeled once before for Urban Outfitters, modeled jean shorts, a white and red-striped shirt and a yellow bathing suit. "I think seeing the kids in it made it cool," Dimmack said. "They were my favorite part."

Mike Kennedy (junior-finance), who modeled blue cargo shorts and a white athletic mesh top, agreed. "Having the kids up there was awesome to watch. They are so adorable in Tommy clothes," he said. "I was lucky enough to hold on to [a Four Diamond child's] hand, and I just picked him up to the crowd. The crowd loved it."

This was the second year Kennedy modeled during Thon.

"I think it gives the dancers a change of pace," said Kennedy, who was a dancer last year. Another model for the spring line was Carmine Gandia (junior-kinesiology). "We were all nervous to walk out in front of that many people," Gandia said. He was the last model out before the members of Road Rules took the stage.

"I think it adds to Thon because it was focused on the kids too," he said. "We never deviate from that because all Thon-goers love kids."
