U.N. not taken seriously because avoids action
The war in Iraq should have been executed months ago, but unfortunately the leadership of our country is traveling down the dangerous road of appeasement and forcing us to kowtow to the irrelevant organization known as the United Nations.
Britain, our biggest ally, has at least learned the lesson of their infamous appeaser Neville Chamberlain. While he proclaimed "peace in our time," Hitler was busy planning to invade Poland despite his pledge to not go to war.
The treaty that Chamberlain signed with Hitler proved to be as worthless as the U.N. is today. No country can honestly be expected to take the U.N. seriously if it never follows through on threats of force. And with "allies" like France and Germany, who needs enemies? France and Germany are simply attempting to seize some glory, not by making their countries better or standing up for the moral case for a war, but rather by trying to bring down the best country in the world.
The United States is showing that it accepts the morality of the rest of the world by going to the U.N. and begging for approval. By accepting a moral system that asks that you not look out for your best interests, but those of everyone else, the United States is only leading to its destruction. President Bush must realize that the U.N. only wants to see the United States brought to its knees and that we alone must take responsibility for our national security.
I implore the leaders of this country to ignore "world opinion" and go it alone if necessary to protect our country from the dangers that Iraq poses to our national security.
