No matter how ugly it may be, a win is still a win.

Josh Mandel stepped through the door and, waving to the fans for a final time, pulled it shut. It was over.

It was anything but powerful.

Do you remember March 1, 2001?

While the snow blanketed the interstates and the hills of Morgantown, W. Va., the No. 19 Penn State women's gymnastics team took over the West Virginia Coliseum by storm.

With its final meet on home turf this weekend, the Penn State women's indoor track team turned in some impressive farewell performances and a second-place finish at the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup at the Multi-Sport Complex.


From the green fields of California to the batter's boxes in Taiwan, and everywhere in between, it has been a wild baseball odyssey for Bo Durkac.

Before the start of this weekend's tri meet at Temple University, Penn State men's gymnastics coach Randy Jepson gave his team a little reminder of history. He told them that when the Lions won the NCAA Championship in 1976, they did it at Temple University, the site of this year's NCAA Championships.

The Penn State men's tennis team put on a good show for the home crowd Saturday, as the Nittany Lions beat Bloomsburg University, 7-0.

The wrestling mats were out on the floor Thursday night at Rec Hall, but those who usually compete on them were serving as referees, scorekeepers and fans.

The Penn State men's boxing team put on a show in front of a packed and rowdy house in the main gym of the White Building Saturday night.


There is an old saying that, " you are only as good as your last game."

The Penn State ski team capped off their conference schedule with a strong finish at Tussey Mountain this past weekend.

The Penn State wrestling team, with its 10 wins in hand, trekked the wilderness of Michigan in search of at least one win, if not two.

The Penn State men's indoor track and field team finished second for the first time this season in a scored meet this past weekend at home, in the Sykes/Sabock Challenge Cup track meet. But the Nittany Lions weren't disappointed with their placing.


The Penn State baseball team's first series of the season, scheduled for this past weekend was canceled due to inclement weather.
