Countries will hate U.S. more after bombings
This letter ("Protesters to blame if U.S. is attacked again," Feb. 11 letter) is somehow relating the pending war with Iraq to the terrorist actions of Osama bin Laden. Sorry to question your blood lust that you seem to share with the current White House administration, but these are separate matters. Most of the terrorists that have been linked back to the Sept. 11 attacks come from Saudi Arabia, not Iraq. Please realize as well, that Sept. 11 came as a result of the United States' constant interference and mass killings of civilians in the Middle East for numerous years now. The U.S. is extremely hated by a fair amount of the world, and Bush is not helping our situation at all by pressing for war. When we bomb (and luckily for you it appears we will all too soon) the hatred for the U.S. is just going to increase. In essence, by going to war, the U.S. is only going to create more Sept. 11 happenings. So I really do hope that you gather as many flowers and candles that you can, because there will not be enough gathered by the protesters when that first bomb kills hundreds of innocent Iraqi civilians.
