New all-age concert law harmful to musicians

Re: "New law jeopardizes all-ages concerts," Feb. 7 article. Let's look at this issue from an artist standpoint. Let's say I'm in a band and I'm trying to build a following. There are a significant amount of people under 21 that see local acts play. With this law over 50 percent of those people can't see local musicians play. In turn, this hurts the artists, groups or bands. Local acts have it tough to begin with to try to gain an audience. The only way local acts have a chance at being successful is by playing at venues that cater to all-ages shows.

We don't have enough venues as it is that cater to all-ages shows and because of this law there will be less venues that showcase local artists. The under-21 crowd needs to have a voice. So what do we plan on doing? For all of you who think there should be more venues for all ages shows we're here to help. We're a group that is trying to help local artists, groups and bands. In general, we're a group that is trying to help local music and this law prevents the growing appreciation of the local music scene. We want to here your comments on this issue.
