Bush only one to blame if we're attacked again
Re: "Protesters to blame if U.S. is attacked again," Feb. 11 letter. Attention all war hawks! Take a minute to think about what you are supporting. We need to disband al Qaeda. Let's go back to October 2001 when a liar who cared more about his political future and poll numbers pledged he would not rest until Osama bin Ladin was in our custody. He forgot his primary job as president is to act in the best interests of the people of his nation. Now he is bent on a war, not to disarm a tyrant or to liberate a people, but to distract his own people from the rapidly disintegrating condition of their own nation. The group responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks operates unchecked while he rants on and on about a ruthless despot (who poses no direct threat to our national security). Just think what would happen if the United States preemptively invades an Arab nation with a predominantly Islamic population. The Islamic lunatic fringe that attacked us before would have a cache of fresh fuel for their violent hatred. So ask yourselves this question: If we go to war and another Sept. 11 happens, whom do we blame? I blame every last one of you. This is not about weapons of mass destruction or national security; it is about power and political distraction. So, remember what happened the last time we ... wait -- we've never preemptively invaded a sovereign nation. I don't trust anyone in the White House to protect me. Andy Richards
