Letter to the Editor
Camera will be used only if riots are likely

I don't think the author realizes the point of the cameras in the letter "Cameras will destroy student, town relations" (Feb. 7 letter).

The cameras are not there to have students constantly monitored by "big brother." They are there for when times such as major sports games and Arts Fest threaten to cause riots. No one ever said that there will be people peering in the windows of unsuspecting residents. Don't you think that there are enough apartments across from each other that anyone living there can look out their window and look in someone else's? Feel a bit more paranoid now? I would feel more paranoid about that then cameras there for my safety during riot-laden days.
