Underagers can watch from 2nd floor of venue
I am writing in response to the letter regarding the Saliva show at the Crowbar ("Venue did not adapt for under 21 crowd," Feb. 3 letter). I too was at the show and it was not "falsely advertised" as being all ages. I believe the writer misunderstood when she was told she couldn't go upstairs. For anyone who has been to the Crowbar before, they know that there are two upstairs levels above the entry level, not just the one where the stage and band were located. Out of the three levels of the Crowbar, the uppermost level is the only one off-limits to under-agers. She could have watched the band from the main level like most people at the show did. I have been to many all-age shows at the Crowbar and believe that they handle the all-age issue better than any bar around. Granted, the Saliva show was by far the most packed I'd ever seen that place, but she had the same chance as everyone else to see the show even though she was under 21. I'm assuming that this was her first time at the Crowbar. I feel bad for her that she didn't have a good time, but hopefully now she knows. Erica Hummel
