I would like to address a situation at the Crowbar which happened last Monday night. I bought tickets in advance for my boyfriend and I to see Saliva. We are both under 21 and were shocked to find what a disadvantage that can be. The show was advertised on the Web site and in the paper as “All Ages.”
However, anyone under the age of 21 was not permitted upstairs to see the band. Everyone over 21 could go up to the main area where they were able to view the bands playing. The under 21 crowd, who paid $15 each, stayed in the the lower level and listened to the bands through the floor and watched them on small monitors.
If we wanted to do that we would have just stayed home. The Crowbar is to be commended for not serving alcohol to minors, but they should not falsely advertise the saying “All Ages” if the under 21 are able to purchase tickets but not view the band live.
