Suicide shouldn't be front page news story
So, John Murphy wants to hear all the details or maybe even see pictures? ("Placement of stories questionable yesterday," Jan. 31 letter). Apparently, he's not a suicide survivor. If he was, he would be able to understand why the death of a peer got "less than meager coverage" and was not plastered all over the front page. Even to mention that it was a suicide at all on the second page, like both the Collegian and Centre Daily Times did, was not necessary. This is not an issue that "the Collegian needs to tackle." How do you think the family and friends of this peer feel? Do you really think they want something that is so personal and private laid out for everyone to read? John apparently has never experienced this in his own life, so he will never understand. I understand perfectly. I think of my sister every single day. She, too, was a peer. Colleen Bloom
