Smoothy King will be opening at 432 E. College Ave. in early March .
The shop will sell primarily smoothies with protein, immune building and energy boosting powder supplements, Alecia Kornacki, Smoothy King general manager said.
The property formerly housed a Ben & Jerry's.
The main ingredients in the drinks will be fruit, water, ice, fruit juices and powder supplements, Kornacki said.
Few of the smoothies will contain frozen yogurt or ice cream, she added.
Pamphlets about product ingredients and general health will be distributed with each sale, Kornacki said.
Smoothy King executives decided to establish themselves in State College because other branches of the franchise have proved successful near other Big Ten schools, she said.
