Matt Finkelstein, have you ever seen the men's basketball team play? This letter is in response to your column, "Who needs the Lady Lions? Men's basketball is the game to watch," on Jan. 24. No joke, I was laughing at how pathetic your column was. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I have no problem with the fact that you don't like women's basketball, but please, at least make some valid arguments.

I would just like to know if you happened to watch the men play Michigan State on Wednesday and notice that they managed to score only 11 points in the first half? Did you flip the channel to watch an infomercial on how to magically lose 20 pounds in two days? Or did you watch them hit jump shot after jump shot? Or throw down acrobatic dunks? Or did you watch Jan Jagla run really fast down the court (that'll be the day)?

Yah, sounds really thrilling! And as home court advantage goes in the Big Ten, Penn State men's basketball team wouldn't have an advantage if they were playing State College Area High School. I don't know what team you're watching, but you can hardly say that the men on Penn State (the team in the white and blue uniforms) "show up everyday and play hard against whoever they're facing." If you want to go see real college basketball, go watch the women. At least they win.
