Letter to the Editor
Graduate unionization Web site is not neutral

Jeff Pristera and Kristen Brosnan state that At What Cost (AWC) has developed a neutral Web site and then state in the next breath that they are against unionizing ("Grad assistants have new Web resource," Jan. 24 article). Pristera and Brosnan's comments are clearly misrepresenting At What Cost's true intentions.

A careful read of the At What Cost Web site will demonstrate that AWC's "fact sheet" is in many cases a reiteration of the administration's position against unionization and contains many more opinions than facts. The same scare tactics that the administration has been using since the GFTEO movement began are embedded throughout the Web site and many points made therein lack any kind of researched support. Their "articles and references" section is filled with anti-union editorials and lacks a single link to a pro-union resource. Rather than accepting what they present on their Web site as "fact," PSU graduate students should carefully consider where the information they present is coming from and critically evaluate their claims and statements.
