NEWS

Pennsylvania's high rate of medical malpractice cases has raised issues concerning the future of healthcare within the state.

A state senator wants to pass legislation that will eventually allow for caps on pain and suffering awards in medical malpractice suits.

To mark the 30th anniversary of Roe v. Wade yesterday, several Penn State students demonstrated their support for the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.

The registration requirements have changed for the 2003 Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (Thon), which could cause the number of participants to decrease.

Couples who decide to live together before getting married are now more commonplace than those who choose to marry before sharing a residence, said Dorian Solot, co-author of the book Unmarried to Each Other: The Essential Guide to Living Together as an Unmarried Couple.

International student Bokyung Cho and his wife, Sung Joo, have had their share of difficulties getting permission to study at Penn State.

Because of a pending suit, Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Senate delayed voting on the confirmation of Evan Yudell as a USG Supreme Court associate justice on Tuesday night.

Justin Dorsey, 19, of the 1800 block of North Oak Lane, was arraigned yesterday before District Justice Brad Lunsford on charges of robbery, simple assault, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.

Tight desk space turned out to be the determining factor for Penn State's low ranking for test site experience during high-stakes graduate school tests.

Avoid the cold weather and pay your parking tickets online.

After months of construction and a few last minute delays, the grand opening of State College's Hollywood Tans is set for next Tuesday.

Experiences can be art.

More than two months have passed since Election Day, and a proliferation of abandoned political signs continues to line Pennsylvania's roads.

SPORTS

A player who stepped up for the Penn State football team this past season has decided to step away from school for a semester.

Pat Cummins is a beast.

Can it get any worse?

The busy week is just about half over.

The secret is out.

He has player interviews to schedule, press releases to write, and meetings to attend. And the ESPN color man is looking for a place on campus to work out. But right now Jeff Nelson's biggest concern of the afternoon is just getting into his house.

If there is any doubt, top to bottom, which conference is the toughest, that question has been answered through the first part of the season.

At Midnight Madness last season, junior point guard Frank Williams stood up and waved good-bye to the Illinois men's basketball faithful

ARTS

No number of dieticians preaching the harms of eating after 9 p.m. will stop the hungered masses from craving sustenance after a night on the town. Eating after a night of social interaction has almost become a norm at Penn State. With this in mind, many businesses gear their prices, hours and even entire philosophy toward bringing students any type of food they may want.

We've all been there before. It's 2 a.m., and suddenly the notion of getting something -- anything -- to eat seems like the best idea you've had since deciding to drop that 8 a.m. class.

In case you haven't heard about it, just go down to the Oasis -- the Creative Oasis, that is.

This is not just a review. This is a eulogy.

With Eisenhower Auditorium's schedule full of performances this semester, students may have to make some difficult decisions. But don't worry yet. Since these national and international touring productions range from operas to a cappellas, there is a performance to suit any taste.

When an album takes ten years to record, it seems like the least difficult task would be to come up with a name for the group. This is not true for the Super-Duper Peek-A-Boopers.

Before you read any further, I should probably warn you: I'm not a big fan of teenage high school movies.

"I'll probably just watch the game, drink some beers. I'm not really a big football fan."

Walking in a spider web

Love -- or something like it -- is behind some of the most-watched television programs today.

There's a new artistic venue on the horizon.
