Compared to others, Philly fans have it easy
I could not help but laugh when I read Chris Korman's column ("Philly fans should relinquish all hope," Jan. 20 column) on how Philly fans have had it so rough. Well I'll tell you about rough. As an avid sports fan and, born and raised in the great town of Buffalo, N.Y., I can honestly say I do not think any other city has suffered like we have in the sporting world. It starts back in the '70s, when our NBA team, the Braves, left town. I was not around to witness it, but when my dad talks about it, I realize how devastating it was. But more current is the painful losses the Bills have endured. So Philadelphia lost two NFC championship games. Try four Super Bowl losses in a row on for size. To this day, "wide right" still is painful to hear. And then throw in the Music City Miracle, where an illegal forward pass ends the season of a very good Bills team. That is just football!
On to hockey where the Sabres lost the Stanley Cup due to a "no goal" when Brett Hull was in the crease, and the So, for fans from across the country, don't tell me you have it hard. Nick Magnini
