Letter to the Editor
Liberal USG senators violate the constitution

Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Vice President Kris Ankarlo is demonstrating a level of arrogance that I cannot believe. How he can honestly think that he knows what is best for USG and the students above and beyond what the USG constitution dictates? I have read the USG constitution numerous times, and nowhere is there a clause stating that it can be overridden whenever the USG vice president feels like it. Disrespect for the rule of law on this level is an utter disgrace and a dark day in USG history.

Mr. Ankarlo and his liberal cohorts in the Senate must have something to hide; why else would they feel the need to continually violate the constitution. USG Senate is very reluctant to release its minutes, and they now no longer record vote totals or the text of debate. These days it seems that the USG Senate has more in common with a Communist Politburo than a democratic governing body.

Since USG has made secret the debate and records regarding Senator McGeathy's expulsion, I cannot comment on whether or not she should have been expelled. I can say that not allowing Senator McGeathy a chance to respond to fellow senators' allegations is a crime unto itself.

I applaud the Young Americans for Freedom for continuing its unfortunate duty of holding USG accountable through the USG Supreme Court.

And if I were Rubina Javeri, I would be ashamed that I ever asked Kris Ankarlo to be my running mate.
