Gov.-elect Ed Rendell used the setting of the Pennsylvania Farm Show last week to nominate lifelong dairy farmer and Penn State trustee Dennis C. Wolff to be secretary of agriculture.

The 51-year-old owner of Pen-Col dairy farm in Millville was elected to the Penn State Board of Trustees by delegates from agricultural societies in July 2001. Wolff is also on the board of directors for Agway Inc.

If confirmed by the state Senate, he will remain a trustee in his new role as an ex-officio member of the board.
