Following this weekend's war protest in Washington, D.C. many students are taking time to re-evaluate their opinions on the potential war with Iraq and President Bush's foreign policies.
Many students are frightened about the possible dangers of a war with Iraq.
"[A pending war] with Iraq is a very scary thought, especially with all the advanced technology that's available these days," said Mark Rivero (sophomore-division of undergraduate studies).
The president is doing a good job taking a firm stance on foreign-related issues, he added.
However, other students are questioning the motives Bush has behind his Iraqi policy.
"I'm concerned [his interest] could be for money-related reasons," said John Malloy (sophomore-finance). He said he wonders if Bush's relations with Iraq are strictly oil-related.
Students are also taking time to think about how a war could affect their lives, both as students and as American citizens.
"My life would change dramatically," Jessica Bobbs (sophomore-animal bioscience) said.
"I have a lot of family and friends in the military, so I'd definitely be worrying about them constantly," she added.
Justin Mitchell (senior-civil engineering) said he would like to avoid war. However, if weapons inspectors find weapons of mass destruction, war might be necessary, he said.
"If the draft was reinstated, I would definitely fight," he said.
