Police suspend Mad Mex, give $1,200 fine

The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement held Mad Mex restaurant and bar, 240 S. Pugh St., under suspension last Sunday and Monday for furnishing alcohol to minors and permitting minors to frequent the business.

The establishment also received a $1,200 fine. Supervisor Thomas Manion said police will review records and "keep an eye out" to see if problems occur there often. Numerous citations can put licenses in jeopardy of being renewed, but Liquor Control records show Mad Mex has not had a history of violations, Manion said.
