NEWS

After a six-month absence and much controversy, the only medical clinic in the region to perform abortions, has re-opened its doors.

While Pennsylvania's 14 state-owned universities suffered a $3 million decline in private fundraising last year, Penn State managed a slight increase in private funding despite a troubled economy, figures show.

Because there was not enough on-campus housing, 198 men were placed in supplemental housing this semester, said Kathy Krinks, assistant director of assignment operations.

Matt Piasecki thought he had an ideal living situation mapped out for his senior year at Penn State, living downtown with three of his closest friends.

Penn State researchers, in conjunction with Ultran Laboratories, Inc., of Boalsburg, have created the world's first ultrasound device that could potentially decontaminate all mail sent in the United States.
