I am writing to encourage fellow students to stop and take a minute to thank a groundskeeper on the walk across campus. With all of the griping about 8 a.m. classes, I want to remind us all that groundskeepers start as early as 7 a.m. and sometimes work around the clock in order to keep sidewalks and streets clear (for us). And, they have done a commendable job!
In less than a day since the storm, campus became completely passable. I myself can imagine few things more miserable than shoveling snow for eight hours in the freezing cold. So, next time you see a bundled-up gardener, take a second to say hi. Tell her or him how great campus looks.
