Teenager accused of abuse

Collegian Staff Writer

A man charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a child, as well as corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors, was bound over for trial on Nov. 19.

Joseph Colucci, 19, is charged with recording a then-17-year-old receiving oral sex without her knowledge on his Web cam after providing her with alcoholic beverages and sending the video to friends.

Colucci is also charged with possessing a CD-ROM showing the sexual act.

According to a criminal complaint, the following occurred during the early morning hours of Sept. 29, 2001:

The victim, who was staying in a Pinchot Hall room, consumed between six and eight drinks with Colucci and his roommate before some of his friends arrived at the dorm.

After the friends arrived, sometime later in the night, one of the men in the room preformed oral sex on her.

While the act was taking place, Colucci set up his computer Web cam to record the act.

Colucci then sent the video to friends through Instant Messenger.

On Oct. 1, 2001, a friend informed the victim he had seen the video that was recorded in a Pinchot Hall dorm room.

When Penn State Police Services searched the room, they recovered a video of the act recorded on a CD-ROM.

The crime allegedly committed over a year ago "almost certainly" violates Judicial Affair's Code of Conduct, said Joseph Puzycki, director of Judicial Affairs. The New Jersey native's preliminary hearing was held last week at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.
