Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (Thon) 2003 and the Four Diamonds Fund are hitting the basketball court to help defeat pediatric cancer.
The student-run organization's first 3-on-3 basketball tournament will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Intramural Building. The tournament will benefit Thon and the Four Diamonds Fund.
Thon spokeswoman Sara Ridge helped organize the event.
"We are optimistic and hopeful that it will become an annual tradition," she said.
Teams of three or four players can register for $10 a person. The registration deadline is 5 p.m. today, with registration forms available in 220 HUB-Robeson Center and on the Web at www.thon.org.
There will be male and female divisions. The winning team will receive a football autographed by Joe Paterno. The first 200 players to register will receive a T-shirt. Food and entertainment will be provided at the tournament, which is scheduled to end at 5 p.m.
