Readers weigh in on Heisman buzz, USG vote (1)

For once, I agree with a decision made by the Undergraduate Student Government. Voting against a proposal to promote and publicize Larry Johnson as a Heisman Trophy candidate doesn't mean that USG is attempting to keep him out of the race. The Heisman race is a competition of athletic ability, not of how much money an institution has to spend on its athletic program.

We should let Larry Johnson's talent and athleticism speak for itself, just as it's already doing, and save the selling out for athletes in the pros.
