Eisenhower Auditorium looked a little like Broadway yesterday afternoon as 34 fraternities and sororities took the stage in the 2002 Panhellenic Greek Sing.

Authorities are checking to see whether there is a connection between the disappearance last year of a Penn State student and four college-age adults who have gone missing recently in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

In its efforts to address acts of hate on campus, Penn State is instituting a new position that will work directly with students who have been victims of hate crimes.

In a whirlwind of hip shaking and lively Latin music, Mr. Latino and Miss Latina Penn State were crowned last night during an event to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

The 2002 Panhellenic Greek Sing took place yesterday, but no sidewalk chalk publicizing the event was seen over the weekend.

The State Theatre, 128 W. College Ave., was all lit up Saturday as a crowd of about 50 volunteers gathered to help spread the word about the theater's fund-raising project.

While acting out skits of weekend parties, inner cities and spring breaks, students discussed and even laughed at different racial and gender stereotypes prevalent in society.

Although college students may recall learning about Meriwether Lewis and William Clark as heroes who valiantly traversed an unexplored America, there are some aspects of the expedition that are still not taught in elementary school.

Penn State will have one last chance to beat Michigan State in the annual Blood Donor Challenge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in HUB Alumni Hall.

It wasn't long ago that they were hanging their heads in disappointment after a heartbreaking home loss that dropped them to 9-7.

Coming into Saturday's game, Penn State tailback Larry Johnson needed 159 yards to break the school's single season rushing record. The Nittany Lions didn't expect to need that many yards from him to rout conference doormat Indiana.

The Penn State women's volleyball team earned a split in its conference matches this past weekend by losing in three games to Ohio State (28-30, 30-32, 25-30) Friday night in Columbus, Ohio, and sweeping three games from Indiana (30-25, 30-25, 30-25) Saturday night in Bloomington, Ind.

With five minutes left in the game, and his team down by two points to archrival Navy, Penn State flyhalf Dominic Mara found himself at the sidelines, 40-meters out, preparing to convert a penalty that could give the Penn State men's rugby team the lead and ultimately the win.

In a pair of key games for the Penn State Lady Icers this weekend, the third period proved to be the difference in both games. One changed team psyche, the other changed the outcome, but both resulted in a loss.

Last year at its annual benefit concert Folly Fest the members of Gamma Sigma Sigma sorority raised nearly $7,000 to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This year, the members hope the show can raise even more to help Centre County's Make-A-Wish children.

State College squirrels have just gotten a little wilder.
