As it turns out, it's a sports movie. I may not be able to shoot webs from my wrists, disappear in a poof of smoke or fly without wings or, at least, a commercial jetliner. Sometimes a band does not need to shake up its style to create a magnificent listening experience deep into its career. Sometimes sticking to what got the band there is more than good enough. Imagine that Jakob Dylan is not his dad's son. Imagine he is a causal rock star that had two solid albums and a few radio hits. But, take a look at the lackluster reception of his band's last album, Breach. What is his next move? Sometimes it's better to take quality over quantity, but unfortunately Jay-Z will have to learn that the hard way. In the two years since David Gray's underproduced, electro-folkie sound permeated the music world, Gray has not changed.
