Letter to the Editor
Moral relativism today pervades universities

Jonathan Barry should thank the responses to his letter for proving his point. Barry accuses the university of stripping away morals of society, and students responded to him -- advocating moral relativism.

The dogma of all universities today is that there's no such thing as right or wrong. The fundamental difference between conservatism and liberalism is conservatives support an objective right or wrong, while liberals believe it's up to any given individual to decide right or wrong. Ask yourself who benefits, the good or the bad, when external standards are removed.

This view of moral relativism leads to such lofty notions that in the war against terror, one cannot determine who's right or wrong -- the United States or the terrorists. Indeed, it should be clear who benefits from this line of thinking.

It's only by removing moral standards, and receiving free money (socialism) that the vice-ridden can continue to exist. Moral relativism and socialism serve only one purpose to destroy ideals. Indeed, as Jonathan Barry pointed out, be it destroying the United States or destroying traditional marriage -- this is all the university ever wanted.
