Abstract artist Diana Cooper to discuss most recent exhibit

Artist Diana Cooper will speak at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Lipcon Auditorium at the Palmer Museum of Art.

Cooper will discuss her most recent exhibition, Hidden Tracks Sabotage the Random, which displayed works that combined drawing, painting, sculpture and installation.

The essentially abstract pieces suggest a narrative of cause and effect; chaos, randomness and order; and fragility and permanence.

Cooper also utilizes unconventional materials in her pieces, including foam core, felt, Post-It notes, crafting pom-poms, neoprene and photographs.

Cooper received a Guggenheim Fellowship and a New York Foundation for the Arts grant for painting in 2000.
