Local writer Maggie Kinser Saiki will discuss her latest book, 12 Japanese Masters, on Friday at 10:15 a.m. in the Palmer Lipcon Auditorium at the Palmer Museum of Art.

12 Japanese Masters, published by Graphis, follows the lives of 12 Japanese designers involved in graphic, product, industrial and fashion design through the period of time following World War II. The book explores Japanese culture and influence through its scrutiny of the role of design in Japan.

The themes of the book make the presentation especially applicable for those involved in the fields of Asian studies, Japanese, comparative cultures, international business, marketing, design, advertising, and fine arts.
