Get ready to dance.
Creed will take the stage at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Bryce Jordan Center, along with opening act Stereo Fuse.
Bernie Punt, director of sales and marketing for the center, said there is a general admission floor as per request of Creed, which will be performing for the first time in State College. The general admission setup will allow the fans to get close to the band. There will also be seats set up on the sides for those who don't want to take part in the dancing or the mosh pits.
"The band wants people to be able to get up and move around to their music," Punt said.
Creed's singles "One Last Breath" and "My Sacrifice" from their newest album, Weathered, have been playing continuously on radio stations around the country.
"People are appreciative that they will be playing right in our backyard," Punt said.
The Weathered Tour also features Stereo Fuse, a new rock band on its debut tour.
After a few name changes and one hit song, the group was signed by Wind-up Records. Its self-titled album has 12 tracks, including the hit song "Everything."
According to the Stereo Fuse Web site, the band went through a lot of ups and downs before becoming what it is today. A lineup featuring guitarist Jeff Quay, drummer Chad Jenkins, bassist Rob Clark and an anonymous vocalist was performing at the Atlantis Music Conference when the vocalist stopped the set to tell a joke. To this day, the band doesn't remember what the joke was.
But the vocalist managed to offend women and men of all races in the blink of an eye.
After that, the band auditioned a number of vocalists, and it followed a tip about singer-songwriter Colin Hill.
After hearing just two songs, Clark offered Hill the job before even talking to Quay or Jenkins. He asked Hill to come to a rehearsal, and that's how Stereo Fuse was born.
Hill, who played in a few bands during and after high school and then played alone, began to find his true love of music.
"I think when people walk away from our concert, they will know how good we are," Hill said.
Tickets for the concert are $38.50 and $48.50 and can be purchased at the Bryce Jordan Center, Eisenhower Auditorium, select Uni-marts and on the Ticketmaster Web site (www.ticketmaster.com).
