Women's rugby
PSU vs. American, 3 p.m. Sunday at American

After its loss to the University of Illinois on Sunday, the Penn State women's rugby team is ready to get back into action and fix its mistakes.

The Lady Ruggers will travel to Washington, D.C., to do this against American University in its last league game of the fall season. With a win tomorrow, the team would be ranked No. 1 in the Potomac Rugby Union for the start of the spring season.

Penn State has won all of its previous meetings with American in recent history and is expecting the same outcome tomorrow afternoon.

However wing Amy Manidis says the team has to remember to stick with its own style of rugby, not American's.

"We have to come out mentally focused and play our best because sometimes we tend to play down to their level," she said. "We need to give 100-percent all of the time. It will be important to pick each other up if we're not at that level."

As its fall season winds to an end, the team must take every opportunity it can to come together as a team and prepare for the spring season.

"We need to put things together because this is the last game before the spring," Katie Gloyer said. "We need to solidify the team we have now."
