Field Hockey
PSU vs. Iowa, Noon Sunday at Bigler Field

The season rests on one more game.

The No. 6 Penn State field hockey team (14-3, 3-2 Big Ten) hosts its last Big Ten game of the regular season against No. 13 Iowa (9-6, 2-3).

For both teams, the final game of the year is critically important. If the Nittany Lions win, they solidify third place in the conference, but if Iowa is victorious, there will be a tie for the third slot. The Big Ten Championships start a week from today.

"This game comes down to seeding for the Big Ten tournament," back Kelly Concini said. "We want to win and get the third-place seed. We want to end our season on a good note."

Iowa has struggled in October, going 3-3, and hopes to emerge in November, while Penn State will try to continue its streak of success, as the postseason draws near.

"We know that they have always played a strong defensive game and have a dangerous corner unit," field hockey coach Char Morett said. "It always seems like a dogfight."
